The Barn in Orange, VT

Our shop is rather basic. We run it out of a barn during the season (June through August) and part time the rest of the year. You are welcome to drop by, however it is best to call first to make sure we will be around. Often we are out on a tour, giving lessons, or shuttling boats.

DIRECTIONS TO HEMLOCK PETE'S:

From the west - north or south:

Coming from the west, either north or south, take exit 7 (Berlin Corners) off I-89 and head east towards Barre on highway 62 for approx. 5 miles, at the intersection of Rt. 302, turn right at the light in downtown Barre and follow 302 east for approx. 4 miles through the center of Barre to the rotary, continue on 302 directly through the rotary for another 3 miles, Richardson Road will be on your right in Orange, the town school and church will be on your left, take the right onto Richardson Road, we are .7 miles down on the left, 149 on the mailbox post, directly across from the big Orange plow, town garage, 1000 ft. up the driveway, around to the left, yellow house and big red barn.

From the southeast:Truckload of boats

Take I-91 north to exit 16, turn left at the bottom of the ramp onto Rt. 25, head west for approx. 16 miles to the intersection of Rt. 302, turn left, west and travel approx. 4 miles, Richardson Road will be on your left, directly across from the local church and town school, turn left onto Richardson Road, we are .7 miles down on the left, 149 on the mailbox post, directly across from the big Orange plow, town garage, 1000 ft. up the driveway, around to the left, yellow house and big red barn.

From the northeast:

Take I-91 south to exit 17, Wells River, turn right at the end of the ramp onto Rt. 302 west, follow 302 for approx. 22 miles(at 18 miles will pass the intersection of Rt. 25), Richardson Road will be on your left, directly across from the local church and town school, turn left onto Richardson Road, we are .7 miles down on the left, 149 on the mailbox post, directly across from the big Orange plow, town garage, 1000 ft. up the driveway, around to the left, yellow house and big red barn.

Although we will work with any material we like to get folks set up with lightweight canoes so you can dedicate your time to the joy of being out on the lakes and rivers instead of struggling to move your boat between car and water.
